DIVISIONS: 18 Holes (Max. handicaps - Both Boys and Girls:  36)

                      9 Holes (Max. Club Handicap: 54)

FORMATS:   18-and 9-hole divisions: Stableford

                       Putting: Stroke Play

                 

PRIZES:        1st, 2nd and 3rd Net, in each division

                      1st Gross (Stableford points) - 18-hole events

AS FROM 7:30 a.m. - FIRST TEE-OFF TIME

RULES & REGULATIONS 

 

1.      Elegibility: All Vilamoura Golf School pupils may take part.

 

                            Players will be separated into the following divisions:

 

18-hole division: for both boys and girls, with maximum EGA handicap of 36 for  both boys and girls;

09-hole division: for both boys and girls, with maximum Club Handicap of 54;

Putting: players with no golf course experience.

2.    Entries:      Must be made by midday on 27th June on the notice boards at the clubhouses, or directly at the Vilamoura Golf Club office.

N.B.: Only players who have paid their 2017-2018 membership dues may enter these competitions.

 

3.      Formats:

 

18-hole Stableford event: Boys from yellow tee-markers and Girls from the red tee-markers; Exception: All players aged 10 and under will play from the red tee-markers.

 

9-hole Stableford competition: All entrants play from the red tee-markers;

 

Putting: Stroke play competition, under the supervision of coaches Abilio Coelho and Manuel Pardal.

 

4.      Rules:

 

Those approved by the Royal  & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, as well as local rules.

 

5.      Ties:

 

In the event of ties for 1st place in the various divisions, the winners will be decided by count-backs of scores over the final 9, 6 or 3 holes, or if there is still a tie, then the best final hole, in that order. Should any tie still persist, then the winner shall be the player in such a tie with the lower/lowest handicap, for the 18-hole divisions.

 

As regards the 9-hole competition, the youngest player in any tie shall be declared the winner. Finally, if a tie still persists it will be decided by a draw.

 

6.      Prizes:

 

                            1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division.

 

7.      Competition cancellations or alterations:

 

The Rules Committee may, at any time:

1. Add to, or alter these competition rules;

2. Suspend or cancel the competition(s).

 

8.      Unruly behaviour:

 

Any form of unruly behaviour will not be tolerated. The Rules Committee reserves the right to act accordingly.

 

9.      Players are not allowed to:

 

       Use any telecommunication device during play;

       Use golf buggies during play;

       Use caddies, except those playing in the 9-hole event.

 

                            Penalty for breach of rules: disqualification.

 

10.    Rules Committee and Referees

 

The School Supervisor, Mr. Jorge Batista and all the golf professionals/coaches.
