MILLENNIUM GOLF COURSE

REGULATION

 

Pursuant to rule 33-1, and without prejudice to the permanently applicable competition conditions, the following Regulations for this Competition are established:

1. PARTICIPATION: Open to young national and foreign players up to 18 years of age who fall within the following age categories:

9 holes: players with club handicap (27 to 54)

18 holes: under 12 players with handicap < 27 (born between 2015 and 2014)

18 holes: under 14 players with handicap < 27 (born between 2013 and 2012)

18 holes: under 16 players with handicap < 27 (born between 2011 and 2010)

18 holes: under 18 players with handicap < 27 (born between 2009 and 2008)

2. MODALITIES:

All players with a club handicap (27 to 54) play 9 holes in the “Stableford - Net” system based on a maximum handicap of 54. Green tees – Men and Women.

All players in the Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 categories play in “Stroke play - Gross”

Women's: Red Tees

Men: Yellow Tees

3. REGISTRATION: Must arrive at the Vilamoura Golf Club by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by the 21st of August 2026.

*All players who participated in the Summer Program are exempt from payment.

4. STARTING TIMES: It will be by handicap. Players must be at the teeing tee 15 minutes before their teeing time.

5. PRIZES: There are “gross” prizes by category (no “nett” prizes). The player with the best “gross” result will have their name entered in the Vilamoura Júnior Trophy and receive a cup (they cannot be combined).

In the 09-hole Competition for players with a club handicap the prizes will be Stableford Net.

6. RULES: The rules to be applied are those approved by the Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrew and the Local Rules to be established by the Technical Committee.

The movement of players and caddy in golf carts is not allowed (rule 33.1)

Time out (rule 6-3 note): In the absence of reasons for abolishing the penalty of disqualification as provided in rule 33-7, if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of your starting time, the penalty for not leaving on your time will be two strokes on the first hole.

7. TIE: The tiebreaker for 1st place will be by playoff. The remaining ties will be made successively by the best round (18 holes), last 9, 6, 3 and last hole. If it persists, the highest handicap wins gross prizes and the lowest handicap wins net prizes.

8. IT IS NOT ALLOWED:

Parents serve as caddies for their children (except ages Under 10)
Players smoking on or off the Golf Course and in the Clubhouse.
The use of mobile phones during the game (must be turned off except for contacting the referee or emergency services)

PENALTY FOR INFRINGEMENT: 2 STROKE

9. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT TO THE REGULATIONS:

At any time, the Technical Committee may:

Complete or amend this regulation
Suspend or cancel any of the rounds
Void or cancel the Tournament

10. BAD BEHAVIOR: Any form of bad behavior will not be tolerated. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to act accordingly.

11. BREACH OF CONDITION ESTABLISHED IN

REGULATION: Except when the Regulation establishes

different penalty: violation of any established condition implies

the PLAYER DISQUALIFICATION.

12. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND REFEREE JUDGES: They will be designated by the Tournament Commission in due course.

 

LOCAL RULES

1. FIELD MARKING:

White Stakes – Off the field

Yellow Pegs – Water hazards

Red Stakes – Side Water Hazards

Blue Stakes or White Lines - Land under Repair

2. OUT OF LIMITS:

White stakes

3. LAND UNDER REPAIR

All areas defined by blue stakes and GUR signs, or by white lines. The player must drop the ball under rule 25-1

4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: 24.2

Tarred paths, irrigation equipment, vehicle tracks, low walls, trees marked with stakes and bridges.

5. STONES IN THE BUNKERS

They are movable obstructions and rule 24-1 shall apply.

6. SLOW GAME

Remember that your place on the field is immediately behind the group in front, not immediately in front of the group behind. If they lose that position, they must give way to the group behind, namely in the case of looking for the lost ball(s).

7. LABEL

Please repair pitches, divots and smooth out bunkers. Also use suitable equipment, in particular that provided for the Club's facilities.
